Sign-ups for the team are in January for returning swimmers and new Cabana members. If there are any openings in any age group, those on the waiting list will be contacted by the end of February. Westgate Swim Team is limited for all meets by Valley Aquatic League to 130 swimmers ages 5-18 years. Because of summer vacations we often have 25 to 45 swimmers absent at a meet. We have about 155 on the team for this reason.
New 5-7 year-olds will have teachers in the water during the 3 preSeason weeks in April. All new swimmers must be water safe before starting preSeason. By the end of May all new swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted.
